If a park is going to have a Shoot the Chutes ride it is a must
that they have a bridge crossing the splash zone...
...just in case the riders didn't get wet enough during their ride.
Bond is normally affectionate but for whatever reason when he gets
soaked on a ride like Mile High Falls he always wants to give Dad a big
hug.
Thanks son.
The Giant Wheel is one of Kentucky Kingdom's oldest attractions as it
opened at the park in 1992. What's interesting is when it was
added to the park Kentucky Kingdom didn't own it. As you can see
on this plate on the Giant Wheel it was owned by Vekoma and leased to
the park. Back then Vekoma used Kentucky Kingdom as a bit of a
showroom for parks to visit and experience their rides in the US.
The arrangement got more rides added to Kentucky Kingdom at a discount
rate and Vekoma got help with a foothold in the North American market.
At a hundred and fifty feet tall the Giant Wheel is the tallest ride at
Kentucky Kingdom.
