Kentucky Kingdom Theme Park, Louisville, Kentucky

More parks need to invest in a bunch of chairs, shade, and a game of bags for their guests to sit back and relax..

About the only part of the outside world that interferes with the tranquil vibe of Discovery Meadow is the occasional jet on final approach.

The Honeybee Buzzers is another ride that was relocated from the front of Kentucky Kingdom and re-themed to fit Discovery Meadow.

The extra little theming all over Discovery Meadow really has me excited to see how the park will look after it has been completely been worked over by Herschend.

What's really nice is under Ed Heart and Six Flags I always left Kentucky Kingdom feeling king of short changed.  Yeah they had good rides but the entire park experience was seriously lacking.  The park was often dirty with stores and rides closed.   Most importantly when  I visited back then NO employee gave a damn if any of their guests were having a good time.  For example on one two hour visit as I was passing through Louisville the ride ops at the Giant Wheel was sleeping, on Chang they were spraying off some vomit from the platform onto the queue, on T2 the ride op was cussing out some loud teens, Thunder Run's ride op was too busy flirting with girls to run the ride, there was trash everywhere with sanitation standing around talking how there was nothing to do, and when I hopped in line for Quake a bolt as large as my fist fell from the operating ride shutting it down.  Through many visits no one from management on down gave a damn, and it showed.

This visit was very much like coming to an entirely different park.  Not only did the park look great but every employee that I ran into was having fun.  More importantly they were focused on making sure all of the guests were having fun too.  In my experience attitude comes from management and it was so nice seeing the change in Kentucky Kingdom.
