The Spring Fling is Kentucky Kingdom's old Intamin Flying
Dutchman ride. Loving a good swing ride like I do these are just
simply fun.
This corner of Kentucky Kingdom with its plentiful tree cover has always
been my favorite part of the park. The work that was done
transforming it into Discovery Meadow has made the area even better.
Bluebeards Bounty, as Natures Bounty used to be known as, is a classic
Huss swinging ship that's been around for a while. Like the
Treetop Drop this once was up in the front of the park that's all walled
off now. The ride is so old that the nameplate on it lists its
country of origin as West Germany which hasn't existed since 1990.
Despite its age I have yet to have a bad ride on one of these.
Moving it out of the corner of the park that it existed in will
certainly get more people on it.
The Cumberland Express is one of the new additions added to the park for
Discovery Meadow. It is a super cute train ride for children.
What I really like about this model is the ride operator sits in the
second car leaving the engine for kids to be able to ride in.
Happy Hollow is another addition that Kentucky Kingdom made when
creating Discovery Meadow. Happy Hollow is a play area for
kids that was still being worked on. Several of the play
structures for it weren't quite ready to go when I visited. Play
areas, especially ones like this with plenty of seating areas for
parents, is really an inexpensive but good addition to the park.
