The Whip is one of my absolute favorite classic flat rides.



Kennywood's Whip, built by William F. Mangels Company has been thrilling everyone at Kennywood for the last ninety-nine years. 
 


The Whip is a super simple ride.  First you take a seat and pull down the lap bar.  Your car sits on caster wheels and the front of the car is attached to a chain that pulls your car forward around the course.



When the chain pulls you around one of the hundred and eighty degree turns your car will whip out giving the ride it's name.



The Whip is such a simple and joy filled ride it is hard to find a rider that doesn't have a big smile come across their faces while taking it for a ride.  It is also the type of ride that kids and adults alike run around for another ride after getting off.
