This is the sole remaining Auto Race ride that was designed by the legendary coaster designer Harry Traver.  It opened at Kennywood in 1930 and is one of the first car rides for kids.  Instead of gasoline engines on a track with a center rail, like most modern car rides, these are electrically powered and are guided along the course with side rails.  Those who can squeeze into the drivers seat can steer a little but for the most part once the ride begins, you are along for a ride.

Oh a side note there are several areas on this ride where you can slap hands with folks in other cars which adds to the fun.

After a spin on the Auto Race we were off to the Lost Kennywood section of the park.

Hidden in the back of Lost Kennywood is one of the best themed spinning mouse coasters:  The Exterminator.

The Exterminator is your standard Reverchon spinning mouse.  Kennywood took that production coaster, enclosed it, and themed it to the hilt to make the best spinning mouse out there.  For Exterminator you play the role of a rat that's trying to escape from an exterminator through a maze of an abandoned industrial plant.  The ride is a lot of fun and is kind of hidden so keep your eyes open for it when visiting.
