If you happen to have the thought cross your mind that the Auto Race's track kind of looks like a coaster track there is a reason for that.

The reason that it looks like a coaster is that the Auto Race was designed by the legendary coaster designer Harry Traver for Kennywood in 1930.

Beyond being a zippy little one of a kind car ride that was designed be a coaster designer part of what makes the Auto Race special and fun is just like the Jack Rabbit it is a tradition to reach your hand out and slap hands as cars pass by.

Slapping hands may not seem that big of a thing but it is hard to not have a smile on your face after slapping hands with some strangers that speed on my.

As a history buff it isn't a stretch to say that I would really enjoy the Auto Race but it wasn't me who requested we ride it a second or a third time.  Bond totally loved the Auto Race with the speed of the cars, turns and the opportunity to hang out and slap hands it is just the most fun you can have on a car ride.
