Crossing to the other side
of the ravine one final time the Thunderbolt turns you around and then
drops you down the largest drop of the ride which happens to be the
last.
Standing majestically over
the park and running down through the Thunderbolt's ravine stands what
used to be the Steel Phantom but is now the Phantom's Revenge.
With the new Phantom's Revenge
trains gone are the painful over the shoulder harnesses that have been
substituted with comfortable lap bars.
When Kennywood changed the
Steel Phantom to the Phantom's Revenge they removed it's loops and kept
it's legendary drops including it's twisting first drop.
Kennywood copied the first
drop from Six Flags Great America's now defunct Shockwave coaster for
the Steel Phantom. The drop on the Shockwave was one of my favorites
and it's nice now that the Steel Phantom has turned into the Phantom's
Revenge that I can experience it without any head banging due to shoulder
harnesses.
