Drier Looping is a portable coaster that began its life on the German
fair circuit in 1983.
Being portable helped it move all around the world after leaving the
fair circuit as it operated as Triple Loop Coaster at Malaysia's Sunway
Lagoon Park, "Magnum Coaster" at England's Flamingo Land, and finally
Quimera at Mexico's Aztlan Parque Urbano before ending up at Indiana
Beach.
When the announcement was made that Indiana Beach was getting
another Schwarzkopf masterpiece to go along with the parks wickedly fun
Tig'rr I will openly admit that my heart skipped a beat and yes I did
jump for joy. It's hard enough to add another Schwarzkopf to your
coaster count and to have one arrive a not too long drive away from home
is an
even bigger bonus.
One of the things that I really love about Anton's coasters is he really
went out of his way; so much so that it eventually bankrupted him, to
make his coasters as smooth as possible and to last. Making a
coaster that was to be built, torn down, transported, and then built
again hundreds of times you really have to put a lot of thought into how
to design it. So Anton Schwarzkopf and his designers created
ingenious systems like this cone shaped support connection that is used
to connect two sections of track.
He used them all over making the ride easy to assemble and disassemble
as well as creating firm connections between the track and structure.
