Saturday afternoon I received
a call from Paula Werne; Holiday World & Splashin' Safari's Public
Relations Director wanting to know if I'd stop by and meet with a couple
of people from a cable/satellite network who were scouting for a park
to film. They wanted to meet a coaster enthusiast and I guess
Paula had me on speed dial for just that purpose. She also threw
in the fact that we'd be walking around The Voyage's construction site
and I could bring my camera. So to put it lightly I was out the
door in a couple of minutes with my heart pounding harder and harder
the closer I got to The Voyage.
I was like a kid in the candy
store walking around The Voyage and Will Koch; Holiday World's President
had fun with my reactions to the ride.
This is the foundation for
The Voyage's station. It is going to be massive. When designing
it Holiday World's maintenance department was asked for their input
and it is going to end up being three stories tall. The first
level will be for the rides computers and workshops. The second
level will be for an inspection area so they can get under the trains
and the third level will be for the station and storage track.
I didn't hear anything as to what the station is going to look like
but I'm certain it will fit the theme of the coaster and area.
It's going to be fantastic flying
around these turns.
