Just ignore this big building behind Canyon Blaster. It's just
a Schwarzkopf designed Jet Star coaster that's in the dark. Unfortunately
is is standing but not operating because it's capacity is not the greatest
and from what I've heard the park decided it was easier close it instead
of dealing with all of the complaints from it's extremely long and non moving
line.
Steamin' Demon was up next.
Steamin' Demon was one of the first big ride added to The Great Escape in
order to transform the park into more than just a kids park. It's
placed on the hill right by the front of the park as to draw drivers on
the highway on in. I know I had a hard time looking at the road with
a coaster looming overhead. Thankfully I wasn't driving.
Here are the guys all lined up for the Steamin' Demon.
Actually Corey, Ken and Paul weren't originally going to The Great Escape
with Kevin and I. The three of them were going to stay at Six Flags
New England and then go on to Knoebel's the next day. Paul had been
to The Great Escape before but Ken and Cory had not. The two of them
knew Kevin and I were going but Paul didn't want to. So they turned
to me to add a little peer pressure for them.
I just appealed to Paul's charitable side saying that he needed to take
pity on those enthusiasts less fortunate than him who don't have his expansive
ride count. The emotional appeal worked so the three of them
joined us for an awesome evening at The Great Escape.
