The Steamin Demon Roller Coaster At The Great Escape, Lake George, New York

The Steamon' Demon like most of The Great Escape's coasters, except for their Boomerang and Road Runner Express began it's life elsewhere.  It opened at Ponchartrain Beach in New Orleans as the Ragin' Cajun in 1978.

Now I had not been on this coaster before but it's train was very familiar to me as it used to run on Shock Wave at Six Flags Great America.  The Great Escape took the cars, refurbished them and replaced the Steamin' Demon's old trains with them.

Steamon' Demon is a pretty simple layout.  There's a drop, a loop, a turn and then two corkscrews before heading back into the station.  It's a production model "Loop Screw" coaster made by Arrow Dynamics.
