The Thunderhead Rollercoaster at Dollywood Theme Park, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Thunderhead and the Timber Canyon are themed to the Smoky Mountains history of logging.

It is fitting having a section highlighting the areas natural resources that uses some of those very resources to create a memorable experience.

Thunderhead is a classic twister coaster from Mike Boodley and Great Coasters International.

A first drop of exactly a hundred feet gets things started on Thunderhead.

When Thunderhead first opened it winded back and forth across a little wooded holler that was adjacent to Timber Canyon. With all of the terraforming that has gone into expanding the park, Thunderhead is in a holler no more which looses a little of the tucked in feel Thunderhead used to have.
