Our tour of Mystery Mine ended right as Dollywood opened and Pete took
us over to Adventure Mountain to give it a try before the crowds got there.
Everyone who read my
Nickelodeon Universe trip report from earlier this year knows that the
ropes course there scared the expletive out of me. So yes, I was very
nervous to try this. What made this way better and something that
I ended up really liking was that there are nice wide platforms where you
can chill our before trying the various paths through the course unlike
having a teeny tiny platform to switch courses and work your way around
the other people up there. Also having a bunch of friends there giving
me some crap helped me get out onto the wires, beams and walkways that sat
way above the ground.
Bond was really fond of the geyser course as you had the option of taking
a rope right above the geyser thus getting him thoroughly soaked.
We worked all our way up and around Adventure Mountain and I even went out
and rang the bell at the course's highest point. It was great and
something that we did again and I'd do again and a huge bonus was that Adventure
Mountain does not have an up charge like everywhere else. Instead
is a part of the regular Dollywood Admission.
Climbing all around sure worked up our appetite so Pete booked a private
room for us at the Backstage Diner for lunch. Private room for ourselves
and food...oh yeah and soda so of course we were all going to get a bit
silly.
