The reason that you want to take the swinging cars over the non swinging ones is that the swinging ones combine a ferris wheel with a coaster. As you can see in this picture of Paul you do not see the horizon. Instead you see the ground as once the wheel turns far enough you slide down a rail into the wheels structure where you rock back, quite intensely.
