With Astroland's closing last year and some of the troubles it has had Coney Island is still packing them in and while it's heyday might be in the rearview mirror it's still kicking.



Just across the boardwalk from all of the shops, restaurants and rides is one of Coney Island's biggest attractions, the beach that has been drawing people to the island since 1829.



It was great feeling the sand between my toes, the ocean in front of me and a view of rides like the Wonder Wheel behind me.



It was a tough call, head to the rides or head into the inviting water of the Atlantic Ocean on a hot summer day.
