The Raptor Roller Coaster at Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio

With Raptor Cedar Point went for bigger and better for their inverted coaster.

Not only was Raptor the tallest inverted coaster in the world but its sprawling layout was a thousand feet longer than the various Batman: The Ride clones that were starting to pop up at Six Flags parks.

The various Batman clones are certainly thrilling coasters but with a nice long layout that has loops, hills, helices, and moments like this one where you can just enjoy speed with nothing beneath your feet Raptor certainly stood heads and shoulders above the competition.

The first half of Raptor takes you out along the midway with a loop and a zero g roll before turning you around with two inversions as the train speeds through the worlds first cobra roll..

From there Raptor twists back and forth in a winding course that includes a first for an inverted coaster which is a mid course brake that allows Cedar Point to run three trains on this coaster.
