The Bolliger & Mabillard designed SheKra dive roller coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa, Tampa, Florida

Last time I visited Busch Gardens in 2013 the only disappointment was that SheiKra was closed due to being repainted.  In the coming weeks before this trip I started checking out Busch Gardens website in anticipation and to my great disappointment SheiKra was listed as closed for some mid year maintenance.  To say that I was a bit bummed to have missed getting to experience this coaster twice would have been an understatement.

To my great surprise while riding Scorpion over and over looking up I saw that SheiKra was running and there were guests on it.

My heart was certainly racing looking up at SheiKra's imposing first drop watching a train load of riders inch closer and closer to the point of no return where gravity takes control.

SheiKra is a dive coaster by Bolliger & Mabillard and was the first coaster of the type in North America when it opened up in 2005.

Dive coasters like SheiKra take everyone's hard wired fear of heights, brings it out and just lets you sweat it out hanging there two hundred feet in the air.
