Back when I was a child the remains of King Tutankhamen toured and
came to Chicago where I dearly wanted to go and see it. Unfortunately
I didn't get the chance as my parents didn't want to wait in the ten hour
long lines but the exhibit sparked an interest in ancient Egypt in me.
As a result all of these years later I had to go and check this out.
Having read numerous books about the discovery of King Tut's tomb I have
to really give Busch Gardens praise for this because for a little side attraction
that won't bring guests to the park like a coaster would it is extremely
detailed and was well researched.
This had to have been someone at Busch Gardens pet project and I applaud
them for adding it. Most parks, even Disney wouldn't put something
like this in nowadays but Busch did and it was a cool attraction to check
out.
Here's the shrine where the boy-king's canoptc jars were stored. What
you don't know about canopic jars? In the mummification process organs
and viscera are removed from the body and are placed in small jars that
for the king were stored inside of this golden shrine. See I know
about stuff besides coasters. ;-)
I said there were going to be plenty of animals in this trip report and
here are a couple of Parrots that were brought out by one of Busch Gardens
trainers so that guests can get up close and personal with them.
