A part of the original theming of Candy Apple Grove that was lost to "progress" was Kings Dominion's Mushrooms.



The Mushrooms are animatronic characters that come to life and serenade the nearby guests every fifteen minutes or so.  Yes, these are cheesy but it is hard not to smile when an oversized frog and mushrooms serenade you.  I know I am not the only one who appreciated the re-introduction of these to Kings Dominion as whenever I passed and they were singing there was always a crowd around snapping video with smiles spread across all of the onlookers faces.



Coaster wise for our first early morning ERT at Kings Dominion was Apple Zapple and the new Twisted Timbers that can be seen in the distance.



Apple Zapple is a Mack Rides designed Wild Mouse that was added to Kings Dominion in 2002.  It was originally named Ricochet but the name was changed when the Candy Apple Grove theme was brought back to this corner of the the park.



Behind the Apple Zapple; in the back of Candy Apple Grove is a wickedly twisted tangle of wood and steel that is Twisted Timbers.
