After those who bid on Thunderbirds first ride for the charity auction
were done taking their lap the rest of us were allowed to go and take our
seats for our inaugural ride. I looked down the launch and saw the
Immelmann sitting before me and my heart; which was already beating like
a drum as soon as I saw Thunderbird on the horizon, really took off in anticipation
of speeding through that loop.
What was funny is with as much of a kick and how good Thunderbird's launch
is by the time I got over the surprise of it I was already pulling out of
the Immelmann headed to the vertical loop.
It took me a few rides to be able to be able to take in Thunderbird's Immelmann
and really enjoy it.
It is great speeding up to one hundred and forty feet above the ground before
acrobatically rolling out of the inversion and diving earthward.
Thunderbird is the second "Wing Coaster" that I have been on and with the
seats way out from the rides center of gravity the spiraling exit of the
Immelmann is really fun as you get to feel every little twist.
