Being a ride for the kids who have moved beyond the Wild Kitty; but are
a little too intimidated by the bigger rides, Steel Lasso is only
49 feet tall and reaches 30 miles per hour at the fastest. The only
bad thing I can say about this ride is it has one train so ride it early
before the line builds up but you really can't squeeze a block brake and
a second train on just 965 feet of track.
I really like this photo of Steel Lasso because of the grin on that little
girl in the front seat. Just look at her...she loved her ride and
was ready for more. There's a future coaster enthusiast.
Next to Steel Lasso is the main reason I have wanted to visit Frontier City
for a long time.
Silver Bullet is one of only fifteen Anton Schwarzkopf designed coasters
in the United States that are as of 2013 still up and running. Being
a huge Anton fan I want to ride them all.
Silver Bullet despite having existed at Frontier City since 1986 is well
travelled as it is a portable roller coaster that started out in Maryland
for a year at the Jolly Roger Theme Park in 1980 before moving to the Texas
State Fair in Dallas for several years before crossing the border into Oklahoma
where it has stayed.
