After conquering the Wild Kitty it was time to go and hit the rest of Frontier
City. I really didn't know what to expect of Frontier City before
visiting but it really impressed me with how nice the theming was.
The whole park was up there with Dollywood or Silver Dollar City (a park
we would visit later in the day for night rides on Outlaw Run - that
trip report is coming next) and it was quite a surprise.
Working our way around Frontier City the Steel Lasso was our next ride.
Steel Lasso is a family inverted coaster designed and manufactured by Vekoma.
Long time readers will know I'm no Vekoma fan due to roughness and in general
pain on their large looping coasters but their Jr. sized coasters like their
Roller-skater "Junior coaster" or their "Suspended Family Coasters" like
Steel Lasso are fantastic, fun and smooth rides.
Steel Lasso was added to Frontier City and like the Silver Bullet and Wildcat
coasters it is very visible to everyone driving by on Interstate 35.
Instead of being a "hang 'n bang" like Vekoma's "Suspended Looping Coasters"
Steel Lasso uses lap bars to keep you secured in the car resulting in in
no banging around or pain and a smooth ride where you can just enjoy yourself
while spiraling around in the sky.
