Up over the trees and beyond the entrance to the Canoochee Lazy River is
the main reason that we stopped by Wyandot Lake, to ride the Sea Dragon
rollercoaster.
The Sea Dragon is a John Allen designed and Philadelphia Toboggan Coaster
built junior coaster. It was built in 1956 and there were two other
coasters that copied it's design, the Valley Volcano at Angela Park and
the Hunts Pier Flyer. Unfortunately of the three only the Sea Dragon
remains.
The Sea Dragon is still in this age of computers and hydraulically operated
brakes ran the old way with levers, pulleys, wires and ride operators to
run them.
The Sea Dragon's train is a little smaller than your regular PTC train but
you need to remember that this a junior coaster made for little coaster
enthusiasts in mind.
