ACE Around the World at Worlds of Fun, Kansas City, Missouri

Like during my visit to Six Flags St. Louis (soon to be Mid-America Park) it was nice seeing these parks given free reign to add fun things to their parks and to hype up everything that makes them special. These signs at the front of Worlds of Fun are more than a cute place to snap selfies at but they show the massive amount of entertainment that is being added to the park this year.

Here's the group I spent the day with at ACE Around the World. There's Danielle, Nat, Travis, Chris, and our new Nat who like Danielle so many years ago came to her first ACE event all alone and ended up leaving with a bunch of friends. All of them made the day a special and memorable one for me.

It would be wrong to visit Worlds of Fun and not take Eli for a spin around the World's of Fun Railroad. We actually had a bit of an informal takeover of the train as we had everyone meet up there at a set time to find out which group ended up winning their very own Patriot ERT.

One thing that did happen this off season, despite Six Flags deep budget cuts, was several hundred feet of Titan Track from Great Coasters being added to Prowler's finale. For years this turn has been rough as all get out. Now with brand new steel Titan Track not only is it smooth but without all of the roughness the train really comes flying into the brake run. While I hate seeing wooden track being removed from a wooden coaster I do understand that maintenance budgets and ride experience needs to be weighed by park management for the long term sustainability of a ride.

In all of my years visiting Worlds of Fun this restaurant in the Europa section of the park has always been closed up and forgotten. It is really exciting seeing Enchanted Parks taking a look at it and deciding to open it back up instead of leaving yet another location in the park closed up like Six Flags and Cedar Fair have done. Little things like this let me know that these parks are in good hands and we are going to see lots of little, medium, and big things to come.
