That change to the ride this year is several hundred feet of Prowler's traditional wooden track has been replaced by steel "Titan Track" from Great Coasters International.

Titan Track is an all steel replacement for wood track that's used in areas of high stress and high wear that cause lots of maintenance.

ACE Around the World at Worlds of Fun, Kansas City, Missouri

Outside of the budgetary and time costs for having to constantly work on areas like this the goal of Worlds of Fun is to be able to give riders a more consistent and enjoyable ride experience.

Prowler's Titan Track extends out towards the rides turnaround. It does help with some of the rides roughness that's developed over the last few years as the Titan Track is silky smooth. The purist in me would rather have wooden track but the realist in me says that replacing sections with low/no maintenance track that were costly high maintenance areas helps keep costs down which lets the park put those funds elsewhere such as into new rides.
