My question is during the off season did Great Coasters, Skyline
Attractions, and Worlds of Fun speed up the lift motors giving the ride
that extra batch of speed to really make it the thrill ride that the
park had intended?
The low to the ground terrain hugging twists and turns of the Zambezi
Zinger especially now that the ride experience has been turned up to 11
as Spinal Tap would. It really makes for quite the memorable ride.
Speaking of making things memorable here is Alyx and Neil from Worlds of
Fun who have always made ACE Around the World such a memorable event.
For this photo I'm not really sure what Travis was thinking but I was
trying to get a cool shot of the Zambezi Zinger reflecting off of his
mirrored shades.
Jumping ahead in the day I was in line and these teenage girls were
ahead of me. One of them was telling her friends a long tale about
the original Zambezi Zinger, how Anton Schwarzkopf was one of the best
coaster designers ever, and how if you knew where to look you'd spot
footers from the original ride. With someone who was so into
coasters I had to ask if she was a member of the American Coaster
Enthusiasts and to let her know about the event that we were in the
middle of. Her reaction reminded me of how it was when I first
found out that there were others who felt about coasters and parks like
I did. Hopefully I see her again at an event in the future as it
is great getting to share this amazing hobby with others.
