Let's start with the station and work our way around what's going
on to get Zambezi Zinger ready to roll later this spring. The
station is squeezed between the Boomerang and the Worlds of Fun
Railroad.
Where the Zambezi Zinger is a hybrid is most of the track is your
traditional wooden track but for the Zinger's tight spiral lift and the
the turn around the lift the artists at Great Coasters International and
Skyline Design used their new "Titan Track" for the design. Right
here on this stretch before the Zambezi Zinger's lift hill you can see
where the traditional wood transitions to the steel.
Unlike Anton's Zambezi Zinger that had electric motors built into the
coaster cars the propulsion for this Zinger's lift are a set of pusher
tires. Of course with the lift spiraling up a traditional chain
lift wouldn't work.
One thing that surprised me was how tight the spiral lift hill is.
It really doesn't take up much real estate and it'll quickly get you up
to the top of its 74 foot tall apex.
With the trees so close by the lift it's going to be really fun
speeding by when the Zambezi Zinger takes you up and around the lift.
Having the trees whiz by you will certainly increase the sensation of
speed.
