This trip didn't turn out quite as it was planned to go. The plan for the long weekend was to attend the Zambezi Zinger's media preview that Thursday, spend the day at the park on Friday, and then run the annual ACE Around the World enthusiast event for the American Coaster Enthusiasts on Saturday.

Unfortunately Wednesday morning, the day before the Zinger preview I got a call that the coaster wouldn't be opening yet. This meant that I had to reach out to a hundred and fifty coaster enthusiasts to inform them that we wouldn't be having a new coaster for our event. After taking care of that I wasn't sure if I should keep my hotel and go on Thursday and stay through Saturday or cancel it and just head out for Saturday. As I already had my time off Carrie told me to just go. So I took my time crossing Missouri on Thursday before checking into my hotel and then headed to Worlds of Fun bright and early on Friday to spend the day at Worlds of Fun for the parks 50th birthday.

The parks iconic sign outside of the park was getting some TLC as much of the park has gotten this year.

The little details are always something that I look for and since my previous visit a few weeks before there had been extra theming flourishes added to the park.

New trash cans themed to all of Worlds of Fun's sections are some of the little things that popped up around the park.

Everywhere you looked there was ribbons and signage promoting Worlds of Fun's 50th birthday.
