Even with Mamba's trim brakes you still get some airtime on the return
run I just wish they'd lighten them up a bit because having been on Mamba
brakeless when they first opened it all I can say is "wow".
Here's a happy Mamba rider returning to the station.
Last year when we visited Worlds of Fun Bond had not yet tried any sort
of tower ride, those that drop you or those who shoot you up. He finally
tried a drop tower and immediately became addicted to them. So I wanted
to get him on Detonator. He was very nervous about it but since it's
smaller than Mamba and he's dropped way more than Detonator's 160 foot height
(the tower is 200 feet tall but the ride only goes up 160) he bravely
gave it a try.
We strapped in and sat there while the car was raised into launch position.
He let out a few roars in order to "let the nervousness out" but
was ready to give it a try. Suddenly we shot skywards and he really
let out a huge scream. Being shocked at the intensity of his scream
I asked if he was ok as we sped up and down. Between roars he let
out "My brain can't quite compute what's going on but I LIKE it!"
Needless to say we ended up riding it again and again as the day went on.
While heading up into Camp Snoopy to see if we could play in the foam ball
house (Bond was bummed to be denied entry so we went back to Dominator to
cheer up) we discovered this little musical side walk. The different
bricks have different chimes. So both of us danced around on it making
music for a few minutes.
