This last winter a few friends and I decided to hit Worlds of Fun this spring to check out Prowler in action.  I figured it'd be open in late April so we thought the first weekend in May would be good so we all penciled it into our calendars.  About two weeks before I was browsing Worlds of Fun's Prowler page and found out that the date of our visit was to be Prowler's opening day. 

The night before Mike headed to my humble abode in Western Illinois and we stayed up late watching coaster videos and having a few drinks.  We ended up staying up way too late and had to get up super early so at 4 AM I awoke and rousted Mike and Bond before hopping in the car and heading west until Mamba filled the horizon. 



We got there before the park opened and headed down to Prowler just as soon as we were in the gates.   Of course we were not the only ones.  



Being opening day there were a few speakers before the grand opening including Brandon Stanley, WOF's Public Relations Director. 



After a few minutes the speeches were done and the queue was opened.  We had to sit while the auction winners got their inaugural rides and then it was time for the rest of us to go for a spin on the newest coaster by Great Coasters International.  Here's Mike lining up for his first ride.
