Shortly after leaving the station is the first of the three lift hills for Expedition Everest.  Like any journey up into the mountains the majority of the first half of Expedition Everest is working your way up all three of them.



The second lift takes you through a small mountain monastery as you climb up to the top. 



Here's Bond on the most expensive coaster ever.  Expedition Everest with it's mountain, ride, building and extreme theming cost Disney around $100,000,000 which you could probably build a small amusement park for.



Expedition Everest was first announced in 2003 as Disney's Animal Kingdom's big expansion and after three years of construction it opened in 2006.



I really enjoyed all of the theming aspects of Expedition Everest from the monastery to the prayer flags Disney really went all out with their 100 million investment.  My question though is how in the heck did the Imagineers talk the accountants into such a massive investment for just one ride.
