This part of New York used to be the domain of King
Kong.
The Kongfrontation ride was fun, Revenge of the Mummy was a highlight of
Universal Studios Florida back in the day. Revenge of the Mummy is
obviously a ride based on the rebooted Mummy series of movies starring
Brendon Frasier and Rachel Weisz. It is a roller coaster/dark ride
hybrid. There are sections where the coaster is used as a dark
ride vehicle moving you from scene to scene inside of a recently
unearthed Egyptian tomb. Eventually though the story peaks and the
coaster begins. The ride was built by Premiere Rides and has three
launches. I'm not going to spoil the fun but just a warning that
when you think the ride is over beware as it may not be.
This was a coaster that I rode over and over during Universal Studio's
early entry for those staying in a resort hotel or with a Universal
Express Pass like I had for my first day. If you get a Express
Pass when you visit make sure to arrive early and enjoy the heck out of
this wonderful coaster repeatedly.
Another attraction in New York is the Blues Brothers Rhythm and Blues
Revue. Now technically Joliet Jake and Elwood are from Calumet
City, Illinois it was good to hear some good blues being belted out at
Universal Studios Florida.
A short walk from New York finds guests of Universal Studios Florida on
the other coast deep in the heart of Hollywood.
Being Hollywood you have great movie palaces like the Pantages
Theater...
...and the streets lined with stars like William Shatner who also is the
first actor in space.
