The Screamin' Eagle at Six Flags St. Louis/Mid America Park By Enchanted Parks, Eureka, Missouri

When visiting Six Flags St. Louis as soon as the rope drops at the beginning of the day I normally head up the hill to the Eagle to hop on the first train of the day.  Most days the crowds don't make their way to the back of the park for about half an hour which makes it so you can ride over and over until they make it up there, but not today.

For the kickoff of the Screamin' Eagle's 50th season the first 1000 riders were given commemorative buttons.  Instead of heading for Batman or American Thunder everyone made a beeline for the back of the park to take the Eagle for a flight.

It is nice seeing how much this ride is loved, not only by the public, but by the park as well.

As usual the Screamin' Eagle was flying.

One thing I'd love to see Enchanted Parks bring back to the Screamin' Eagle are the chaser lights that it used to have running along the rides 3,872 feet of track.  There is nothing like a nice classic wooden coaster with chaser lights illuminating the rides course in the darkness.

With the park celebrating the Eagle's 50th it was nice seeing the park also celebrate with some nice merchandise for the occasion.

With a considerable portion of the merchandise for sale at Six Flags St. Louis branded with DC Comics, Looney Tunes, or Six Flags the merchandise arm of Mid-America Park is really going to have to come up with a ton of stuff between now and next season.  One plus with this being the last year for anything Six Flags St. Louis you know there are going to be lots of discounts on branded merchandise later in the year.
