Opening Day at Six Flags St. Louis, Eureka, Missouri

Another ride that is just perfect is Sky Screamer.

Sky Screamer is so much fun because it takes you up, spins you around at forty-three miles an hour totally cooling you off with a wonderful breeze.  About the only thing terrifying about it is dangling over two hundred feet in the sky from chains that look like those from a backyard swingset.

For decades Six Flags St. Louis has been at the bottom of the barrel when Six Flags Corporate gives out investment and budgets.  Knowing that the parks management have taken the tack of "what can we do inexpensively using funds that we don't have to ask corporate for".  This change in thinking has lead to the long unused remote controlled car track over by the River King Mine Train being turned into some additional seating.

This in itself is not a big deal but with all of the staff at Six Flags St. Louis empowered to come up with all sorts of little projects to make the park better from added seating to having management take on painting parts of the park in the off season these ideas and actions will eventually get this park back to being the gem of the chain that it once was.

While I have complained about how corporate is always happy to take profits from this park and return very little the people who work here really care and are trying in any way possible to make it a great park.  Hopefully with Six Flags merging with Cedar Fair and Cedar Fair management in the drivers seat everyone who has worked so hard at this park will be rewarded with some real capital investment to spruce up the park, add capacity, and eventually add some big new rides.
