The Boss Rollercoaster at Daredevil Daze at Six Flags St. Louis, Eureka, Missouri

It is always fun when we go on these behind the scenes tours watching the faces of the riders as they speed by and an expression of "what the heck" comes across their faces when they see us.

Behind the scene tours like this are some of the things that make going to ACE events really special.

Of course one of the other things that make events like Daredevil Daze a must is the chance to spend time with my "coaster family".

Working our way around the Boss we finally came to the first drop.

It is easy to design a first drop but when the design tram at Custom Coasters worked on this ride they built the lift a hundred and twenty seven feet tall.  The drop is a hundred and fifty feet because they worked the ride into the terrain with an amazing double dip.  Being on the hillside the Boss levels out at about the same height as where the lift began then after a straightaway that is angled down the bottom drops out of you as the ride plummets to the bottom of the hundred and fifty foot drop for a truly stellar start to the ride.
