Opening Day 2020 at Six Flags St. Louis, Eureka, Missouri

One of the many steps that Six Flags St. Louis is doing to keep everyone safe and healthy is once a ride is over with the trains are completely sanitized.  On the Eagle that meant that the train was sprayed down with disinfectant and then after a few minutes (to give the chemicals time to kill whatever was there) it was wiped down and guests were allowed to board.  On Batman: The Ride they'd empty the train spray it down and then send it out to air dry.  On The Boss they'd just spray it down and let you ride.  It was opening day so my guess is that there was a bit of miscommunication on what the actual procedure was to be.  Whichever way they went about it seeing Six Flags really go above and beyond was nice and made it easier to visit.

One ride that would be a nightmare to keep sanitized is the Grand Ole Carousel.

This actually makes 2020 the perfect year for Six Flags to keep the carousel closed for a complete restoration.

Yes you heard me right.  After I have been complaining about the poor state of this carousel for the last twenty years on this site the Grand Ole Carousel is finally getting the tender loving care and a lots of paint that it deserves.

What is great is I have ben told that the debate at the park and with Six Flags Corporate was if it was a better choice to remove it and replace it with a modern fiberglass carousel or to restore it.
