"A Christmas Scarol" was a new show for Holiday in the Park
this year.
"A Christmas Scarol" was put on in the old Chevy Show building.
It is a really small theater which made the show that much more fun
as everyone got in on the fun.
It was pretty easy with the name "A Christmas Scarol" to figure out
that it was going to be a take on the old Dickens classic.
What surprised us was that there were just two actors putting the
entire show on. One playing Ebenezer Scrooge and a
actress/puppeteer who played the four ghosts who come and visit Mr.
Scrooge and the rest of the cast.
Being honest when we saw the puppet everyone was befuddled.
No one knew what to expect but it turned out great. A
Christmas Scarol was one of the most hilarious shows I have seen at
a park in ages. It is filled with pop culture references,
audience riffing, actors messing up (the puppets hats; one for each
character, kept falling off over and over) and everyone including
the actors cracking up over and over.
You have to love a show where Ebenezer Scrooge drops to his knees to
profess how he wants to live so he can find out what happened to
baby Yoda. A Christmas Scarol needs to come back for 2020 and
stay because everyone from 2 to 80 laughed until they hurt.
This is a MUST see show and I don't say that a lot.
