When the Screaming Eagle opened in 1976 it was the longest coaster
in the world at 3,872 feet in length.
The thing is with all of the up and down over the hills of Six Flags St.
Louis we probably walked almost twice that length.
In addition to being the longest coaster in the world when it opened the
Screaming Eagle was also the fastest at a speedy 62mph. Hey back then
that was illegally fast as the national speed limit was a slow 55mph.
It is quite a hike up to the Screaming Eagle's turnaround.
Here is another photo of Bond took of me for you all.
