We had to grab a few rides on the River King Mine Train which I believe
was the only coaster that didn't succumb to gremlins at all.
Tony Hawk eventually got back up and it took us for a few spins.
And before the day was done we had to make it back to Batman so that Bind
could get his fix. Oh for a little surprise when you're on Batman
keep your eyes open and you might get a glance of the now defunct Six Flags
Kentucky Kingdom's trains for Twisted Twins sitting under Batman's break
run.
Remember when I mentioned that in my well over thirty five years of riding
coasters that I had never been evacuated from a coaster, well it happened.
Mike split off from us at the end of the day to head to Evel while Bond
and I waited for Greg to get his season pass processed. Greg only
took a minute and we got on Evel a train after Mike. After hitting
the brake run and entering the shed where Evel Knievel's storage track is
the ride shut down. So we hung out sitting there for a few.
Eventually the ride operators came out as well as a few managers and evacuated
us from the ride. Bond and yes Greg and I loved it. When he
got down Bond checked out the wheels and I asked the ride ops if they'd
take a picture of us. They agreed on the conditions that I put the
photo up here and I let everyone know that they're really cool.
They are really cool except for the new ride op who thought that just because
he had a microphone he should use it non stop. I mean he did
a ten minute monologue on bacon earlier in the day. It was pretty
annoying and from what I hear he was new and had been spoken to.
Getting evacuated from the ride and getting to walk track which Bond went
nuts over was a memorable way to end our first day of the year at Six Flags
St. Louis.
