Being built up on the wooded
hillside there's not much that can be seen of the Eagle from the rest
of the park.
There is a fantastic swoop
turnaround before the Eagle really begins. A little note here,
when you get to the top of the lift look out ahead of you and you'll
see the Six Flags St. Louis bone yard. Currently the Sky Screamer
Freefall ride from Astroworld is sitting there in addition to parts
of other rides and Fright Fest attractions.
I am a big fan of the Screamin'
Eagle but unfortunately over the last few years it's been a painfully
rough ride. I think the only track replacement that's been done
has been the top couple of layers of track and what they really need
to do is completely re-track this classic ride. Instead of being
rough and slow a properly cared for Eagle is Fast, intense as well as
delivering plenty of airtime. Please Six Flags...bring this once
world-class coaster back to shape.
I love the Eagle's logo...I
think it's cool that in addition to the sign by the entrance the Eagle
has this one up on it's third hill.
The Rush Street Flyer is a
heavily themed Falling Star. It's in the Old Chicago section of
the park and Rush Street is the kind of place in Chicago that you want
to go if you're in the mood for a party. The location of the Flyer
is nice because you're so far up the hill the view is wonderful from
the top.
