Growing up in the 1970's and 1980's along with the theme park industry I have a particular fondness for the old parks and their theming.  The difference between then and today is the theming today looks manufactured while the older parks theming just comes off as natural.

Here is an old ride that seems to be harder to find as the years go by.  The Gunslinger is a Chance Rides built Yo-Yo ride.  While I like modern swing rides only these have that weird forward and backward "Yo Yo" action as you spin around.

This is a view that you will be seeing at pretty much every Six Flags.  This and the Justice League Battle for Metropolis ride at Six Flags St. Louis which opened in 2015 were the prototypes of the ride for the chain.  Several were added this year and guess what several more are going to be added to more Six Flags parks in 2017.

Speaking of super heroes we programmed our Flash Pass to take us to Batman next.  As it goes with the Flash Pass virtual queue system you pick a ride and then it tells you when you can go ride it.  Once your allotted time arrives you head up a special Flash Pass entrance for the ride.  Batman's Flash Pass took us by some of the parks dumpsters and compactor.  The rank smell was a lovely bit of additional theming.

After getting all batty we were off across the plaza to do battle with Mr. Freeze.
