Mr. Freeze Rollercoaster at Six Flags Over Texas, Arlington, TX

Mr. Freeze is a "shuttle" coaster which means you go forwards and backwards on the same track.  As one would think with the coaster shooting out then coming back on the same track you'd only be able to have one train.  Well Mr. Freeze has two.  Mr. Freeze's station is one big transfer track.  While one train's track is in the launch position and the coaster is out on the circuit the other is on the side loading and unloading.  Then when the ride is over the train in the launch position slides over to the load position and the one on the other side slides over here to launch.  It doubles the ridership, is pretty ingenious and earned it's manufacturer an industry award when the ride opened in 1998.

There are two copies of Mr. Freeze, this one and the one at St. Louis.

The only difference is that after the 70mph launch this one takes you through a top hat inversion to the left and the one at St. Louis goes to the right.  This one threw Greg and I for a curve each time we rode it as we're used to the one in St. Louis.

After going straight up, through the top hat and then watching the ground zoom up at you as you go straight down Mr. Freeze sends you sly ward and through another inversion.
