Shock Wave in the early morning at Six Flags Over Texas, Arlington, TX

While I was there enjoying Shock Wave in the early morning sun maintenance was there prepping it for the day including sending it out on a test run.

Right about the time the shutter snapped for this shot I heard a voice behind me.

"Did you get the shot?"

I turned around to see a Six Flags Over Texas security car.

It turns out that it is illegal to stand on the side of the road around Six Flags Over Texas.  The officer explained to me that I could take all the pictures I wanted to from the teeny strip of land between the feeder road and Interstate but I could not stop or stand to take a picture from the side of the road that touches Six Flags property.  Yeah I think it's a bit ridiculous but was polite to the officer and asked if I could just walk back on the side that I was to the hotel instead of on the less safe median.

I did notice this sign on the way back.  It is right next to a bus stop so I'm curious if those waiting for the bus have to walk back and forth to comply with the law.  Still, I did not stop walking while taking this picture.

I did not stop and watch this maintenance worker checking out Judge Roy Scream for the day.

I just kept on walking towards my hotel with a big grin on my face as I knew that today was going to be a fantastic day.

Coming up next:  A day at Six Flags Over Texas.
