The Revolution Rollercoaster at American Coaster Enthusiasts Coaster Con 42 at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California

After years of watching this ride on the movie "Rollercoaster", "Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park" or on TV shows aplenty (there is a lot of filming at the park with Hollywood just down the highway) I was completely let down by The Revolution in 2001.

By at that point in the rides history Six Flags had added an over the shoulder harness to go along with Anton Schwarzkopf's original lap bar restraint.  A rumor has it that they added the unnecessary OTSR as local gang members had to stand up through the Revolution's loop in order to pass initiation.

The lap bar and shoulder harness Revolution beat the crap out of me.  Throw in some insanely heavy mid course breaking and the ride was a rough bore but you could feel that there was a gem of a ride hidden in there.

Thankfully Six Flags Magic Mountain decided to bring the magic back to The Revolution in 2016.

The ride was closed down with the entire ride from the ground up refurbished so it could be the soul of Magic Mountain for another forty years.
