The West Coast Racers Rollercoaster under construction - American Coaster Enthusiasts Coaster Con 42 at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California

You will launch and race down one side of the track and then when the "race" is complete your train will head into a garage themed to the West Coast Customs auto customization shop before launching out to race on the other side of the track.

This twin launch just above the drainage canal I think is trying to be reminiscent of drag racing down the concreted in Los Angeles River.

Way beyond West Coast Racers is Apocalypse.  Thhis Great Coasters International design is completely cut off from the rest of the park during the construction.  Six Flags wisely took this down time to give it a complete overhaul.  Unfortunately for us that means it was not running for the Con and I was unable to add it to my coaster count.

As I sit here at the end of September writing this the rumors are that West Coast Racers will finally open in early November.  I'm not sure why it was delayed so much but at least Six Flags Magic Mountain won't need a new ride for 2020.
