Nothing says Halloween decorations
like torn up burlap sacks hung over a couple of buildings in a park.
A ride that's almost hidden
back in a corner at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom is Bluebeard's Bounty.
It used to be right next to the Vampire Rollercoaster but since that's
gone it sits back behind the Skycoaster. Maybe someday they'll
move it somewhere closer to the midway instead of where it is way off
of the beaten path. Oh, if you happen to get Christopher as a
ride operator on this you will have a great ride because he just went
out of his way to make sure everyone had fun.
Actually my main goal of my
trips to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom was to spend some serious time on
one of the best coasters on the planet, Greezed Lightnin' before the
season ended. On my first visit it was down for the day so I spent
some time watching it get fixed. It seems that recently it's cables
were replaced and they still has a few bugs to work out. On my
trip on October 30th the ride was up and running and I spent a large
portion of my day on it. The coolest ride of the day was when
the ride faulted and just sent us down the track with just enough speed
to reach the loop before reversing course into the brakes. We
spent about ten minutes out there waiting for the maintenance crew to
push us back into the station and it was really a very memorable ride.
While in the front section
of Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom grab a ride on the Roadrunner Express
because it's a fun little rollercoaster.
One of the very few things
Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom did to make Fright Fest different from any
other day at the park was to enclose their bumper cars. In addition
to that they added some special effects and lights to the create the
Road Rage Cage.
