Six Flags Great America, Gurnee, Illinois

It is always a great day when you see the stars and stripes and the Sky-Trek tower overhead.  The reason we were at Six Flags Great America was for Bond and me to take our cousin Donna out for a day of fun.  Last year we got to reconnect and I found out that Donna absolutely loves roller coasters and as she no longer has any family members to take her to parks I decided to step up and get her to a park once a year.

Donna is the biggest little kid ever and as soon as we got through the gates she had to take Great America's Columbia Carousel for a whirl.

While looking down on Six Flags Great America's entrance plaza from the upper deck of Columbia Donna caught a glimpse of Maxx Force rocketing along its track and it was decided that is where we were going to head to next.

Maxx Force is a great launched coaster by S&S Sansei.

The aptly named Maxx Force is pretty much about speed and power.  Throw in the compressed air launch system that put S&S on the map with their Sky Shot and Turbo Drop tower rides and mix into it a launch system with a pusher car like the Anton Schwarzkopf designed Tidal Wave that ran at Six Flags Great America from 1978 to 1991 and throw in a few loops and you've got Maxx Force.
