A new addition to Six Flags Great America since our last visit is
the aptly named Mardi Gras Hangover. These Larson designed loops
are ok but going over and over and over doesn't sit well with me so we
walked on by.
Bond and I tried several times to take Superman for a flight but with
several lines of storms moving through the area it seems every time we
walked into the line storms would shut it down. With a hour left
in our day at Six Flags Great America we finally got a flight.
With the sun going down and our time running low Bond and I had a couple
of coasters that we had to ride. The first one was The Whizzer.
With twilight spreading across the park and one last spin on the Whizzer
behind is we headed into Southwest Territory for our traditional final
ride of the day.
While working our way to Viper Maxx Force looked amazing against the
dimly lit sky so I had to snap a few photos.
Viper is our traditional end of the day at Six Flags Great America.
Viper always gives an amazing ride but at the tail end of the day
completely warmed up it just gives even more airtime and speed. It
really is the best at the end of the day.
With the final ride of the day behind us I hated to end the day but it
was really exactly what I needed. I needed plenty of rides on
coasters like Goliath, Raging Bull, Whizzer and Viper. With our
flash pass we ended up getting almost forty laps on coasters which is
what we both needed. In the end though Bond and I needed a day of
just the two of us enjoying what we love. Days like this going
forward may be few and far between as life gets even more busy for Bond
but we are going to have to work one of them in a year.
