Right across from El Toro sits the old man of Great Adventure, Rolling
Thunder.
Rolling Thunder is a twin tracked coaster that kind of races. The
reason I use "kind of races" to describe Rolling Thunder is that
the two tracks follow a similar course but actually have very different
layouts. So instead of one credit as most racers are this counted
as two for me.
While we were lining up for our ride on the green side (which I highly prefer)
we were recognized by one of the ride ops who shouted "Negative-G's
in da haus" over the PA system. It's nice being known this far
away from home.
After Rolling Thunder we were off to give the oldest coaster in the park
a whirl. Of course if you can see the photo above is the Runaway Mine
Train that opened with Great Adventure back in 1974.
We got on the Runaway Mine Train and then they shut it down because of a
protein spill so while that was being cleaned up I snapped this shot of
Brian, Ken, Corey and myself. Brian's in the back trying to look all
tough with his new coaster tatoo.
