Six Flags Fiesta Texas, San Antonio, Texas

What I really liked about Six Flags Fiesta Texas is that everywhere you look the designers of the park really went out of the way to make it as aesthetically pleasing and that Six Flags has kept up with that as a goal.  Of course opening up in the 1990's the park designers had decades of theme park design and lessons learned to draw on in making Fiesta Texas.

The plan for Bond and I was to head down and do a Texas trip this year just the two of us because he is finally of age to drive.  When I found out that there was an American Coaster Enthusiasts event at Six Flags Fiesta Texas during the time we were planning to be in the Lone Star State our plans suddenly changed.  I mean exclusive ride time on Iron Rattler, Batman, Superman and the park's legendary hospitality towards ACE made it a must attend stop on our tour of the state.

Fiesta Fest, put on by the ACE South Central region lasts a day and a half with it all kicking off Friday night with a Fiesta Bay Boardwalk exclusive ride time.  To you non enthusiasts out there what that means is that after Six Flags Fiesta Texas closed for the night we were given this section of the park along with all of the rides to ourselves to ride and enjoy as much as we wanted for two hours.

Having a hundred or so enthusiasts spread across seven rides we decided to save Pandemonium for our evening ride time.  Pandemonium just like the ride of the same name at Six Flags St. Louis opened as Tony Hawk's Big Spin in 2007.  After 2010 Six Flags decided to cut costs and stop all licensing fees so Tony Hawk was no more and the Big Spin became just Pandemonium.  These production line coasters from Gerstlauer are really fun and it really fits nicely into the Fiesta Bay Boardwalk section of the park.

An interesting side note about why Fiesta Bay is a boardwalk is that this corner is the low part of Six Flags Fiesta Texas.  When it rains; which it does down there, all of that water has to go somewhere so the entire themed section was designed as a boardwalk able to operate above any water before it is pumped out and away from the park.
